Call To Action

In 1997, Dream It, Achieve It! was seen by 1,738 middle schools, as well as in limited roll-out to Girl Scout Troops, 4 H Clubs and battered women's shelters. By 1999, we were in the middle schools in nationally and our videos were seen by millions of young people. Because of costs involved in a direct to schools campaign, we are focusing on the Internet.

Our current thrust is to digitize 200 interviews with outstanding women. However, the list of women who should be included is endless.

We would like to make Dream It, Achieve It! available to every middle and high school in the nation, as well as to each Girl Scout Troop, 4 H Club, Girls Incorporated, Urban League, Boys and Girls Club, YWCA, appropriate after-school program, battered women's shelter, and all other community organizations upon request. To do this would involve raising at least $1 million dollars a year. Unfortunately, production and travel costs are not free, and duplication and postage alone are over six dollars a video.

We especially need funding in the following areas:
* Video production costs (and travel) to interview the women
* Editing costs to edit, digitize, and stream video interviews on our website.
* Duplication and distribution of materials to schools
* Duplication, distribution of materials and mentor training for after-school programs
* Web site updating and maintenance
* Production of additional related materials
* Publicity
* CD-ROM based Dream It, Achieve It! program
* Support Staff, Mentors
* Travel
* Duplication and distribution of materials to 81,000 Olympic teams. (We were asked to create a video for 81,000 Olympic farm teams but could not afford to do so.)

We are constantly asked to create videos for someone’s event. The only thing that prevents us from satisfying all these requests is the lack of funds.
